We develop the drive of the future

You could be part of it

Vortifer® is a sustainable propulsion technology made in Germany that combines all the advantages of the known flight principles based on one physical principle. More than a pure flying device, almost infinitely scalable and considerably more efficient than any VTOL, Vortifer® can become a game changer for many industrial sectors in which air circulation plays a major role. The diverse application possibilities extend beyond mobility and logistics. Industrial complex ventilation systems (suction/pressure; air conditioning/ventilation), surface and underwater transport and even consumer products can be operated much more efficiently with Vortifer® technology.

Due to current developments, this page will focus primarily on the aerospace/mobility sector. However, we are also looking for innovative industrial partners in the aforementioned areas of application who would like to break new ground together with us.

Learn more about the milestones behind the development of this unique technology here. Your know-how and resources may be an additional, important building block for rapid further development to market maturity.

Vortifer®

New paths taken from the start

During the development of Vortifer® and it’s large number of possible applications, it was important to us from the start not to focus on a specific application (e.g. drone or air taxi). We meticulously scruitinized the core technology and its proof of concept. In this process, we were able to open up a multitude of other areas of application. And it turned out that Vortifer® is completely independent of the energy source used and generates its much higher efficiency even with existing energy sources instead of being dependent on the development or maturation of new, not yet existing, energy sources.

July 2019 | Commissioning of a simulation study at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR)

After the first results in September, the principle of operation was confirmed and we were promised a considerably larger lift reserve compared to conventional systems. From then on, it was clear that we were not talking about just a flying machine, but about a completely new propulsion system. This was followed by further simulations to optimise the configuration.

December 2020 | Test stand at Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences (THI)

On a specially configured test stand, the drive concept was also confirmed in practice and the results calculated of the CFD simulations were proven in practice. On this basis, the configuration was then continuously optimised and professional CFD simulations were commissioned. The result was proof of the superior efficiency compared to all other VTOL aircrafts – the characteristic curves generated from the CFD simulations showed this very clearly.

August 2021 | Construction of the prototype

Based on the optimised configuration, we built a prototype with a provisional control system and interim materials. Our goal was to prove the process of starting functionality and control capability in principle.

February 2022 | Implementation of tethered flight: lessons learned

- Vortifer® is steerable.

- Control is a needed component of stability.

- A control system specifically tailored to the functioning of Vortifer® has yet to be developed.

- This real-world "proof of concept" prompted the patent examiner to approve the grant.

April 2022 | Grant of patent for Vortifer®:

The patents applied for in 2019 for the Vortifer® technology have been granted. We have already initiated the national phases of the international application in the most important industry regions at the end of 2021.

Current state

Time for cooperation in an innovative environment

Experiencing increasingly strong changes in the ecological sphere, we need solutions to decouple growth from resource consumption. Vortifer® offers possible solutions for these challenges that go far beyond the mobility issue. This can create synergy effects that will become a decisive advantage in the future. Synergies between people and the environment, but also between politics, business and research.

For Vortifer®, this means that we are working today to further expand our existing network with strong partners from research and development. The aim is to significantly shorten the time to market and, in contrast to other innovations, to waste neither development time nor resources. What we really need today are new and more efficient ways from research to industrialisation.

1. Research and development

In order to realize and put into practice the efficiency values calculated and confirmed in the simulation and thus to prove the great superiority of Vortifer® in the areas of efficiency, flight safety, manoeuvrability as well as the almost unlimited scaling possibilities and the variety of applications, we are looking for specialists in the areas:

2. Industry

Already during the development of the core technology, it is important for us to connect and cooperate with partners from all possible areas of use (applications) of Vortifer® on board. In this way, we not only connect Vortifer® with the market-specific know-how in the respective product segment at an early stage, but also generate long-term experience values in order to implement specific regulatory requirements. In doing so, we strive for different alliances in the respective application areas from the Vortifer development platform.

The next steps

Reaching the goal together?

We want to develop Vortifer Technologies into a high-tech company. We see the Vortifer® concept holistically as a network project in which synergies can and should arise between the participating partners from research and development and those from the industry. The basis for this is a development platform around the Vortifer® technology, which makes close cooperation possible. Become part of Vortifer® and contact us.
